History of the hotel

South Florida's most renowned landmark hotel, the Fontainebleau Hilton is situated on 20 lush tropical acres on the ocean in Miami Beach and is now home to The Fontainebleau Tower a 36 story Luxury Hotel within a Resort. The resort continues to reflect the gracious ambiance and prestige that has made it famous since its opening in 1954.

The Fontainebleau Hilton Resort has been the crown jewel of Miami Beach. Long before the trendy street cafes and nightlife scene erupted on South Beach, the famed Fontainebleau was the home to movie stars, politicians, celebrities and notables. Rich in history, and visited by every American president since Eisenhower, this legendary hotel has graced the Miami Beach landscape for 50 years.
Miami Beach and the Fontainebleau Hilton Resort continue to remain virtually synonymous, it's nearly impossible to imagine one without the other. All it takes is one visit to understand why. Begin with the grand drive that greets and surrounds each guest with diverse water features and a palm lined entry. Only to then arrive into a glass enclosed porte cochere with sweeping vistas of the blue Atlantic Ocean and tropical gardens. The half-acre lagoon style rock grotto pool with cascading waterfalls creates the ambiance of a tropical island. Two stories of poolside cabanas overlook "Cookie's World" and the many shades of the sparkling Atlantic Ocean and pristine beach. The resort's interior is equally as memorable as its stunning front drive.
A diverse collection of guestrooms and suites are spacious, newly renovated, and provide the comforts of home. Fontainebleau Tower, the resort's newest addition has redefined luxury for Miami Beach. All have a balcony, high speed Internet, private pool, separate entry, fully appointed kitchenettes and kitchens. The Executive Level of our Chateau Building provides private concierge services, a separate lounge and oversized guestrooms and suites. Restaurants and lounges compliment the styles and sounds of South Beach. Miami Beach is one of the most diverse and eclectic culinary cities in the world. The Fontainebleau Hilton provides an assortment of casual and themed venues to choose from, including Bleau View, the resort's classic American cuisine dining room. The Fontainebleau Hilton Resort offers guests a stress-relieving experience and invigorating workout at its fitness center, complete with state-of-the-art equipment. And, when business brings guests to Miami, they are assured of quality services offered at the resort's complete business center and first-class meeting and conference facilities. For those who cannot get enough of the water, there is windsurfing, wave runners, parasailing and much more. Just two miles down the seaside boardwalk is South Beach's famed Art Deco District. At the Fontainebleau Hilton, guests are at the center of it all.
No wonder every president since Eisenhower and legendary stars, including Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Bob Hope, Sammy Davis Jr. and Lucille Ball, have stayed here when visiting South Florida.
